Ladies and gentlefolk, I present to you a picspam of universal proportions.

"It never gets old."
"Nope."
"It kinda makes you want to..."
"Break into a picspam?"
"Yep."
The Sun is a miasma of incandescent plasma:

The Sun's not really made out of gas, no, no...
Total Eclipse of the Heart:

Hey, it was that or a Twilight reference. I chose the lesser of two evils.
'Cause I'm a rocket man:

Now I'm floating free and the Moon's with me and it's bright enough to light the dark...
Look Upwards...:

...and share the wonders I've seen.
Is there life on Maaaaaaaars?:

If you're humming Knights of Cydonia, don't worry, so am I.
Jupiter, Bringer of Jollility:

Unfortunately, I'm all out of Jupiter puns.
Saturn, Bringer of Old Age:

Saturn also gets no pun-love. This needs to be remedied.
Neptune and Uranus:

While the material here is just ripe for the picking, I'm going to have to go for the Harry Potter reference: Can I look at Uranus too, Lavender?
I'm Your Moon(s):

From out here, it's the rest of the world that looks so small.
Star Light, Star Bright:

I wish I may, I wish I might...
Polvo de Estrellas:

One little star made of nothing, in the periphery of a minor galaxy; one in so many millions, and a grain of dust orbiting around it.
...and dust to dust:

We won't leave footprints, only stardust.
Galaxies:

The galaxy that lived inside your eyes...
You Are Here:

That pale blue dot in the upper-right corner of the middle image? That's Earth. Just a little perspective for you.
Boom de ya da, boom de ya da, boom de ya da, boom de ya da...
(Obviously, if you have any pictures you want to add, please don't hesitate. Science available upon request. Posted publicly here on Dreamwidth and here on Livejournal. Enjoy. ♥)

Date: 2010-02-22 06:25 pm (UTC)From way up here the earth looks very small,
It's just a little ball of rock and sea and sand,
No bigger than my hand.
From way up here the earth looks very small,
They shouldn't fight at all
down there upon that little sphere.
Their time is short, a life is just a day,
You think they'd find a way.
You think they'd get along
and fill their sunlit days with song.
From way up here the earth is very small,
It's just a little ball, so small, so beautiful and dear.
Their time is short, a life is just a day,
Must be a better way
To use the time that runs among the distant suns.
From way up here the earth is very small,
It's just a little ball, so small, so beautiful and dear.
